CHILDRESS — Leaving the labor force, formally called “retirement,” is an easy transition for most persons, an event usually anticipated with joy.
Retirement offers the opportunity for delayed activities, such as traveling, volunteering and hobbies, from gardening to fishing.
However, gradually in an unanticipated, subtle manner, a decline in abilities and energy occurs.
