Virginia was born on Sept. 30, 1905, in Amarillo to Mr. and Mrs. James D. Browder. Her father came to Hall County in 1887, bringing with him a small herd of mixedbreed cattle. When he got the Pothooks Ranch, he stocked it with Herefords, a foundation stock.
