The Childress Bobcat bid farewell to their four-game losing streak, skating past the River Road Wildcats in a 64-32 final Tuesday, Jan. 20 in Childress, which they followed with a tight 73-71 victory over Tulia on Thursday, Jan. 22.

Childress High School juniors Crewz Keys, left, and Sara Davis, right, were recently named the McDonald’s Big Mac of the Week, announced Wednesday, Jan. 21. Back from a shoulder injury sustained in the early season, Davis went 7-of-8 from the three-point line her first two games back on the floor, while Keys has averaged 15 points per game since the Bobcats began district play.

Childress’ Emma Britten competes at the Lockney Invitational Monday, Jan. 19 at the Floyd County Unity Center, opening the 2026 season.

Childress Elementary School celebrates Christmas around the world

Childress’ Journey Prince was recently named to the Press Pass Sports 2025 Volleyball Team, announced Sunday, Dec. 14. Prince, a senior outside hitter for the Lady Cats, was selected as an Honorable Mention, joining a lineup of 40 area players.

Childress’ Emma Jalomo and Caleb Moore are the McDonald’s Wednesday Whoppers of the Week, thanks to recent game-aiding plays. Jalomo averaged 17 points over the last five games, helping lead her team to the Brady Tournament Championship, while Moore averaged 15 points over the last five games, leading his team to a 4-1 record. Moore was also selected to the Childress Rotary Holiday Basketball Invitational All-Tournament Team.
