CHILDRESS — Wednesday, Nov. 22, a local Beechcraft King Air departed, a Piper Cherokee stopped for fuel on its way from Waco to Amarillo and a Cessna Citation, from Houston, fueled up and dropped off a passenger.

FARMER’S MARKET The Childress 1st and 3rd Farmers’ Market takes place the first and third Saturday of each month.An evening farmer’s market will be held beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11. Part of the Fall Season Finale, the market will be accompanied by food, music and fun for all.

CHILDRESS — Tuesday, Oct. 24, two Beechcraft King Airs brought passengers in from Dallas for business. Thursday,Oct.26,an Embraer Legacy dropped off passengers from Arkansas and stayed overnight, and a Bell 407 helicopter dropped in for fuel on its way from Houston to Amarillo.
Anne Fromm, 94, was the “birthday girl” at the recent Childress Senior Citizens Center luncheon. With an enthusiastic “Happy Birthday” sung to her, Fromm, who regularly dines at the weekly luncheon, had a choice of birthday cakes – all chocolate – as well as cobblers and pudding to satisfy her sweet tooth. Sweet Ice o’ Mine to host First Annual Fall Festival this weekend

CHILDRESS — Sweet Ice o’ Mine will host their First Annual Fall Festival from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 at 403 Commerce St. NW in downtown Childress. “This will be a great night of fun,” Sweet Ice o’ Mine Owner and Manager Jocelynn Thron said.
We Can Care’s Kimberly Hickman, Sarah Haseloff, Carolyn Jennings, MeLisa Lugo and Barbara Sue Parr accept a donation in the amount of $3,484 from Childress High School cheerleaders at the annual Pink Out Pep Rally Friday, Oct. 7. Funds were raised through the sale of pink out T-shirts. We Can Care, a local nonprofit organization, aids Childress County cancer patients through the furnishing of gas cards.
