City of Wellington enters into contract with Senior Citizens Board

WELLINGTON – The Wellington City Council met at 6 p.m. in special session Monday, Jan. 30 with City Manager Jon Sessions, Mayor Larry Adams, and Councilmen Brent Martin, Jimmy Cantu Jr., Kenneth Warren and Brandon Ward present. City Secretary Sherrie Dunlap also attended.

The community of what is currently Lutie, before 1890, was part of the Rocking Chair Ranch, located north of Wellington. In 1908, the Pleasant Valley school district was organized in the area. In 1909, the community name was changed to honor Mrs. Lutie (R.H.) Templeton, wife of the county attorney.
