‘Cheese day’ eagerly awaited by numerous county seniors

CHILDRESS— Whatever the official name, the first Wednesday of each month in Childress is designated as “cheese day” by the senior residents who receive a Community Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) box.

“I like it because I get so much,” said patron Georgia Jones,who occasionally creates the recipes provided with the box, “but I usually create my own [dishes].
