Wellington Elementary School first graders dive into the life cycle of a chicken prior to summer release. During the 21-day hatching period, the two classes, made up of 30 students, incubated 48 Plymouth Rock chicken eggs, hatching 22 for a successful rate.

Childress High School seniors, as well as their friends and family, join for a postgraduation party, involving organized, adult-supervised and alcohol-free activities, at Bobcat Den.
Through Thursday, June 22, Childress Independent School District (ISD) will offer free lunches to children and teens 18 years and under. Meals will be served from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Thursday at the Childress Elementary Cafeteria. Meals can be picked up to-go or eaten on site. Parents may purchase a meal for $4.75. Many people over the age of 40 suffer from frequent bouts of neck or back pain and headaches. Their pain flares up for a few days or weeks; they seek care; the pain goes away; they go back to “normal” and wait for the pain to return later. I see many of these patients.
