Childress Happenings  THE POPSICLE TOURThe Popsicle Tour with Jon Reep, a stand-up comedian and actor, is coming to Childress. Reep will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1 at the Palace Theater. General admission tickets are $35, and Artist Circle tickets are $50.

Coffee truck takes on trusted task

WELLINGTON – Sorensen Wellhouse, rebranding from The Soggy Llama Coffee Co., established in Mangum, Okla. in 2023, fills an essential role for dedicated Collingsworth County coffee connoisseurs, setting up shop at 309 Houston St. on U.S. Hwy 83.

Adult Fellowship Luncheon highlights importance of food safety protocol from supplier to dining table

CHILDRESS — The cardinal rule of food preparation is to know and practice food safety procedures.Following this cardinal rule, however, starts with the selections chosen in the grocery aisle, with shoppers searching for products that have been manufactured with adherence to food safety.
Jo and Tommy Lewis celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on June 24, 2025, followed by a reception with friends and family the next day at the Parkview Manor Assisted Living in Wellington. Married in 1950, Tommy and Jo lived and raised their family east of Wellington on the family farm. Central to their lives, farming is something they continued to do until August 2023, when they moved to the “city,” where they currently reside at Parkview Manor Assisted Living. Courtesy Photo
