CHILDRESS/MEMPHIS — The Hall-Childress Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is taking orders for field and farmstead windbreak trees.Each year, the Hall-Childress SWCD, in cooperation with Lubbock’s Texas A&M Forest Service, offers the public trees for establishing windbreaks.

Volunteers Zella and Camden McDaniel, children of Lion Jarrod McDaniel, assist in serving pickles and onions at the Wellington Lions Club Super Bowl Pulled Pork fundraiser event last Sunday afternoon, Feb. 8 at the Club Room of the Bura Handley Community Center.
Offered at 1 p.m. on Thursday afternoons through the month of February, Saunna Blacksher leads participants in diamond art at the Wellington Senior Citizens Center (WSCC). WSCC currently offers exercise and wellness classes, monthly socials and birthday lunch celebrations, day trips and game room activities. Special interest groups and individuals meet for bridge, dominoes and other games from 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Wellington Senior Citizens Center
