CHILDRESS — Matt Herbstritt was recently named the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Childress District Director of Construction by Childress District Engineer Darwin Lankford.
Herbstritt, a 2007 graduate of Childress High School, began his TxDOT career as a summer employee with the Childress District in 2008. After graduating from Texas Tech University in 2011, he began his engineering career in the private sector, working for a consulting firm in Amarillo. In December of 2012, Herbstritt returned to the Childress District as an Engineering Assistant. In 2015, he received his Professional Engineering license and moved to the Childress Area Office.Two years later, he was promoted to Childress Area Engineer.
Herbstritt and his wife, Tracee, are the parents of Ethan and Cooper. He is currently working on his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at West Texas A&M University in Canyon.
