Texas Panhandle veterans are encouraged to attend the Veterans Benefits and Barbecue, hosted by American Legion Post 68. Aimed at educating veterans and their families on services available, the free event is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9 at 124 S. Iowa St., Shamrock.
