While family and friends filled the seats of the Wellington High School auditorium, Wellington Junior High School eighth-grade students took a moment for a class portrait. WJGH promotion took place at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 14.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer- related death in the U.S., behind lung cancer. It now causes more deaths among adults younger than 50 than any other malignancy, thanks to some combination of diet, lifestyle and obesity that we are struggling to fully understand.
Childress High School’s Lyly Dinh places third in Theatrical Design – Hair and Makeup at the 2025-2026 State UIL Contest Friday, May 15-Saturday, May 16 at the Austin Independent School District (ISD) Performing Arts Center. For the challenge, designers were required to incorporate four wedding elements — something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue — into their “The King Stag” fantasy character challenge.
