MEMPHIS — The Memphis Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees was recently named the 2025 Outstanding School Board of the Year by Region 16 Education Service Center (ESC).
According to Region 16 ESC, education service centers across the state nominate school boards in their region for this honor,with the award presented by the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA).
“The school leaders at Memphis ISD are incredibly deserving of the 2025 School Board of the Year award,” Region 16 ESC Executive Director Tanya Larkin, Ed.D., said. “Through visionary leadership and a steadfast commitment to excellence, this board has set a powerful example for others to follow. Their dedication to fostering student success and meaningful community partnerships is clearly reflected in their mission — to provide rigorous, engaging experiences that ensure every student is equipped with the choices and opportunities for a successful life.”
