WELLINGTON – Meeting in a regular session at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17 in the superintendent’s office, President Cody Phillips called the meeting of the Wellington Independent School District (ISD) Board of Education to order at 7:30 p.m. Brad Bawcom offered the opening prayer. Additional members present included Lance Kane, Jonathan Killian, Mark Lemons and Alison Strickland. Board member Gene Pena was not present. School personnel present were Superintendent Kurt Ashmore, High School Principal Jermaine Cantu, Junior High Shannon Fisher, Elementary Principal Deidre Kane,Athletic Director (AD) Greg Proffitt and Business Manager Dian Souder.
No one appeared for open forum. The board approved the minutes of the July 10 regular meeting and appointed School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) Committee members.
The board voted to table the consideration of property insurance with PEAT until a quote has been received a quote for the 2023-2024 school year but approved the Travel Reimbursement Rates for 2023-2024 as presented.
