Circa 1936, Dr. Elmer Jones traveled to St. Louis, Mo. to seek the help of the Dominican Sisters. He successfully brought them to Wellington to staff St. Joseph’s Hospital upon its opening, hence the name, St. Joseph’s Hospital.
