CHILDRESS — Childress ATV and Moto Park ATV Superintendent Troy Casey recently announced early closure of the park during Red Flag Warnings, a decision spurred by the recent fires sweeping the Texas Panhandle, including one fire which broke out in the park.
“Due to the recent fire at the AVT park, and what is going on in the upper Panhandle, any day we are open, and a Red Flag Warning is in effect, the trails will close at 1 p.m. – no exceptions,” Casey said. “This will be done for life safety.”
In effect through the month of March, Casey encourages riders to check the “Childress ATV Park” Facebook page for Red Flag Warnings, prior to arriving at the park. Additionally, Casey said, should a warning be issued after riders’ arrival, the park will still issue an early close.
