FORT WORTH — Childress County 4-H member Drake Rabe, the son of Dale and Lori Rabe, was recently announced as a 2023 Calf Scramble Scholarship recipient, earning $6,000 in scholarships.
“As Drake continues his educational journey with this scholarship, I am eager to see the positive impact he will undoubtedly make,” Childress County Extension Agent Sandra Moody said. “Drake’s success serves as an inspiration to other youth in our community, emphasizing that dedication and hard work can lead to great achievement.
Rabe, who caught a calf during the 2023 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo’s Calf Scramble Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, earning a $500 purchase certificate toward a beef or dairy heifer for exhibition at the 2024 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, submitted monthly reports, as well as a final essay, outlining his Calf Scramble experience, to be eligible for the scholarship award.
