Johnson steps into new role as Childress Police Department Chief

CHILDRESS — The City of Childress welcomed Childress Police Department Chief Jerrald Johnson in a swearing-in ceremony Monday, Jan. 13 at Fair Park City Auditorium.
“I am overwhelmed with all of the community support,” Johnson said. “It was a difficult decision to leave my school resource officer (SRO) position, but I put my trust in God, and this is the decision He has chosen.”
