CHILDRESS — The Childress County Heritage Museum hosted an unveiling of a Texas Historical Commission Marker at the Childress Army Airfield (CAAF), a former bombardier and navigator training command, Friday, Jan. 17.
A nearly four-year process, the Childress County Heritage Museum Board, including President Fred Leighton and Vice President Ramona Garcia, began researching the CAAF in 2021.
