Childress’ Foster named Lone Star Conference Preseason Co-Player of the Year

RICHARDSON — Lubbock Christian University (LCU) Lady Chaparral Grace Foster, a 2021 Childress High School graduate, was recently named the Lone Star Conference Preseason Co-Player of the Year,a title that hasn’t been claimed by LCU since Allie Schulte received the accolade prior to the 2021-22 season.

Dave Campbell’s Texas Basketball also recognized Foster as the Non-Division I All-Texas Most Valuable Player and as a First Team All-Texas (Non-Division I) selection following her sophomore season in which she also claimed All-America honors by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).

The junior led the team with 16.4 points per game, third in the Lone Star Conference, and a university single-season record of 311 rebounds, the first in the region and 14th nationally, enroute to claiming Lone Star Conference Player of the Year and D2CCA South Central Regional Player of the Year honors.
