CHILDRESS — Four Childress Lady Cats received all-district softball honors, announced Friday, May 12. First team selections included senior pitcher Jena Preston and junior outfielder Clarissa Gamboa, while second team selections included freshman infielder Journey Prince.

ALTUS — Over 300 area students, including those from Childress and Memphis, recently competed at the All-Star Olympics, an annual competition for children and adults with special needs, hosted by Altus Public Schools.

CANYON — Memphis and Wellington athletes narrowly missed the state mark at the Region 1-2A Track and Field Championships Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29 at the West Texas A&M University Track and Field Complex in Canyon.

MEMPHIS — The Memphis Lady Cyclones couldn’t keep up with the Sunray Lady Cats Thursday, April 27,ultimately falling in the 10-0 shutout. Despite the loss, a triple by Melanie Espinoza in the first inning was a plus for the Lady Cyclones, who put up three hits.
