Walk-off seals win for Wellington against Nazareth

WELLINGTON — With the game tied at 20, the Wellington Skyrockets singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run and tipping the scale as Major Brown slid into home plate, sealing a 21-20 final against the Nazareth Swifts Friday, March 24.

CHILDRESS — Junior Hicks, a junior at Childress High School, rounded out his powerlifting season at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association (THSPA) Division 3 State Championship Friday, March 24 at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene.

Bobcats claim blow-out victory over Roosevelt, tally losses to Slaton, Shallowater

CHILDRESS — Tallying two losses, as well as a blowout victory, the Childress Bobcats brought their season record to 6-6 this past week. A walk-off left the Bobcats on the wrong end of a 9-8 final Tuesday, March 21 as Slaton doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring a game-winning run.

Cyclones take victories over Wellington, Shamrock

MEMPHIS — The Memphis Cyclones recently picked up wins over Wellington and Shamrock, bringing their season record to 4-3. Clawing their way to a 7-2 victory over the Wellington Skyrockets, the Cyclones fired up the offense in the first inning, catching an early and definite lead Tuesday, March 21.
