Skyrocket tennis makes regional appearance

AMARILLO – Coached by Amy Inman, two doubles teams represented Wellington Monday, April 20 during the UIL Region 1 Tennis Tournament at Rebel Tennis Center.

Wellington defeats Memphis on back of clutch display

WELLINGTON — Wellington’s Alex Orozco drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Skyrockets past Memphis, 10-0, on Friday, April 24. Orozco doubled in the first inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the third inning, scoring one run.

WELLINGTON – Skyrocket fans, along with Major Brown’s family and teammates, packed into the Wellington High School gymnasium at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, April 23 to witness him signing his National Letter of Intent to compete in track and field at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU).

The Childress Bobcats couldn’t keep up with the Bushland Falcons, falling in a 9-0 final Friday, April 24. Pitching, Luke Rodriguez allowed three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out two and walking none. Kade Maldonado led with one hit in one at bat.
