Wellington Gun Club, established in 2023, has plans to open the 2025 shooting season with a variety of shooting competitions at its 40-acre range, one mile west of Wellington on FM 338 and a half mile north on CR170. Spectators are invited to come out and watch the competitors in the Turkey Shoot, Quail Walk and Annie Oakley. Wellington High School Class of 2024 Valedictorian Summer Neufeld accepts a $2,000 scholarship award Thursday, Aug. 8 from Wellington State Bank (WSB) President Richard Sims. An employee at WSB for the past two summers, Neufeld has enrolled in Texas Tech University in Lubbock to study finance. Her minor is interior design.
