WELLINGTON - Around 50 athletes turned out for opening day of 2025 Skyrocket football “two-a-days” Monday morning, Aug. 4. Wellington Independent School District (ISD) Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Greg Proffitt anticipates gaining even more players when school begins Wednesday, Aug. 13.

The 10 games spanned from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m., with wins against Wheeler, Clarendon, McLean and Memphis.
