Faulks share love of reading withWOCI

The Red River Sun/Bev Odom A former elementary teacher, D’Lyn Faulks’ love for reading inspired her to organize an Usborne Books & More book drive for students who attend Wellington Opportunity Center, Inc. (WOCI). Faulks and her children, Adeline, Levi and Jenna, delivered 134 colorful books to the West Ave. facility Wednesday morning, Aug. 10. Thirty-six community members donated to the book drive, and Usborne matched 50% of the contributions. WOCI Director Shelly Brim plans to begin the fall session Monday, Aug. 29. Courtesy Photo The Faulks’ donated collection of Usborne Books will take students of all ages on a wealth of adventures. While the collection is mostly hardback, the smaller chapter books contain paperback covers.
