In 2015, my wife and I found ourselves owners of some undeveloped land in Parker County. This continues to be an interesting source for imagination and frustration, but things continue in a mostly positive direction. 2022 was a great year to consider the leftovers from projects of previous years (an assortment of lumber pieces, some old tin, broken pottery and even barbed wire), and see if they could possibly be used in some constructive way. I had a temporary inclination toward architecture during high school and even drew out a floor plan for my medical office 25 years ago.
This time, however, I was intending to make something that could withstand 100-mile-per-hour winds while keeping it interesting. I believe I have accomplished that.
My creation is named the Cross and Crown Chapel, and I would describe it as “delightfully Texan.” Nobody is on the list to have a wedding here yet, but who knows what the future might bring.
