Jan. 17 is Benjamin Franklin’s birthday (1706) to the world and my youngest brother’s birthday to me. It’s my first recollection of a new life,complete with a solid snowfall that day and lots of cries over the next few months.

Following the cancellation of the recent Winter Rodeo Series rodeos, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 20 and Sunday, Jan. 21, Wild Card Youth Rodeo has announced a makeup date. Scheduled to run alongside the final weekend’s events, the rodeo will be made up Saturday, Feb.

Bingo winners gather at Wellington Senior Citizens Center January social and meal on a frigid Thursday evening, Jan. 18. Approximately 20 members dined on an “amazing” Italian meal, catered by The Gettin’ Spot Café. Eva Hamby claimed the blackout bingo prize of a plush blanket.

WELLINGTON – Nurse Practitioner Cassie Colson earned the STAR (Service, Teamwork, Attitude and Results) employee of the fourth quarter of 2023. Colson joined the provider staff at Collingsworth General Hospital and Collingsworth Family Medicine in March 2019 as a family nurse practitioner.
