The Childress Farmers Market makes a $1,000 donation to the Childress Downtown Historical Association (DHA) during the market’s evening finale Saturday, Nov. 16 on Commerce St. in downtown Childress. “The DHA sincerely appreciates this donation,” Childress DHA President Shelly Preston said.

First Baptist Wellington carries on shoebox ministry

WELLINGTON – For almost a quarter of a century, the Christmas Shoebox Ministry at First Baptist Wellington continues its Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child project. The tradition began with the late Rubye Hodges, longtime Sunday school teacher and director of the GoodTime Singers.
