Jack and Hailey Odom welcomed Greyson Pete Odom on Monday, July 22, 2024, in Abilene. He arrived weighing 6 pounds, 14 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long. Proud grandparents are Ella Johnson, of Abilene, Doug and Debbie Johnson, of Krum, and Neal and Bev Odom, of Wellington.

Modern Home Club welcomes Childress Chamber Executive Director

CHILDRESS — Modern Home Club met Thursday, Sept. 19 at the First Baptist Church Parlor.President Soundra Christy called the meeting to order, welcoming guests and members. Reports on those not present,as well as prayer needs, were discussed.Hostesses were Edie Johnson and Raenell Smith.

CHILDRESS — Competing for a chance in the 2024 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) spotlight, Childress’ Selah Smith, the 13-year-old daughter of Stran and Jennifer Smith, recently advanced to the Top 8 in the 2024 NFR National Anthem Contest.

Wellington beauties make Mark at Miss Cotton Country

HOLLIS, Okla. – The 20th Annual Miss Cotton Country Pageant all-day event evolved Saturday, Sept. 14 at Hollis High School. Thirty-nine young ladies from across Oklahoma and Texas, including Wellington’s Adeline Faulks, Mallory O’Rear and Maggie Tillman, took the stage at 6:30 p.m.
