Memphis teacher receives kidney from former coworker

After seeing Matthew Nix’s Facebook post about needing a kidney, Beth Logsdon, a former coworker of Nix’s, decided to apply, ultimately being a match.
MEMPHIS — Memphis Independent School District (ISD) teacher and coach Matthew Nix, affectionately known as “Coach Nix,” will soon be able to return to doing what he loves most – teaching and coaching, thanks to the donation of a “second life” by a former coworker turned best friend.
