Wellington’s Sims recognized as Graduate of Distinction at WTAMU Ag Day Celebration

CANYON – One of the area’s largest salutes to agriculture returned with West Texas A&M University’s (WTAMU) annual Ag Day Celebration, where Wellington’s Richard Sims accepted accolades Saturday,Sept.7.

Graduates of Distinction included Sims, a 1980 graduate, who serves as president of Wellington State Bank and is a prominent community leader, andTerry Wright,a 1973 graduate, who has been a financial leader at Herring National Bank and played a critical role in restarting the Ag Development Association.

The Graduate of Distinction Award goes to WTAMU ag alumni who have displayed proven success and contributions in their profession, and who have contributed to WTAMU ag with leadership, financial support and as a spokesperson for WTAMU ag in their profession and community.
