WELLINGTON – Boss Lion Lori O’Rear welcomed members and guests, including Hollis Hispanic Heritage Committee members Nori Banda, Belinda Flores and Gloria Nunez, of Hollis, Okla., to the 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15 meeting of the Wellington Lions Club.

CHILDRESS — The Childress District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will offer free child car safety seat inspections during a Child Passenger and Car Seat Check-Up Event from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at HTeaO, 1305 Ave. F NW, Childress.

Comanche Nation Youth DancersComanche Nation Youth Dancers, comprised of around 20 dancers and singers of all skill levels and ages and attired in full regalia, will perform during School Day on Friday, Oct. 3 at the Fifth Annual Rocky Sprott Living History Weekend at Powell Park in Wellington.
Chad Holland, Community Bank President, as well as Executive Vice President and Advisory Director, of Childress InterBank since Sept. 30, 2002, plans to hang up his full-time banking hat on Oct. 1. Employed by InterBank for over 25 years and in the banking business 41 years, Holland will continue in his banking profession on a part-time basis through the end of 2025. Scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 9, InterBank plans to celebrate Holland’s retirement in conjunction with its Holiday Open House.

CHILDRESS – Born in Amarillo and raised in Wellington, Chad Holland describes himself as an eighth-generation Texan and a direct descendant of both a Stephen F. Austin “Old Three Hundred” colonist and a Green DeWitt colonist.
