Bawcom Farms brings in Farmers Co-Op Society #1’s first bale for 2025

WELLINGTON – For the 2025 cotton crop, Bawcom Farms harvested the first bale ginned on Friday, Oct. 10, at Farmers Cooperative Society #1 in Wellington. Gin staff said Leamon Bawcom called in his bales on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

WELLINGTON – Warm sunshine and mild temperatures set the scene for the annual Collingsworth County Chamber of Commerce Trunk-or-Treat event from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 on the south side of Wellington’s downtown square.

CHILDRESS — Roughly 115 fifth-grade students from Childress Independent School District (ISD), Paducah ISD, Guthrie ISD and Wellington ISD, as well as area homeschoolers, attended Childress County Ag Day Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Mashburn Event Center and Arena.

CHILDRESS — An estimated 600 trick-or-treaters will hit the bricks of downtown Childress from 5:30-7 p.m. this Halloween, Friday, Oct. 31, during Childress Chamber of Commerce’s annual Downtown Trick-or-Treating event.
