TDCJ investigates after suspected drugs found in Roach Unit mailroom

CHILDRESS — The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is investigating after T.L. Roach Jr. Unit mailroom clerks discovered multiple illegal substances hidden in a pair of shoes.

According to the TDCJ, mailroom clerks at the Roach Unit received a package containing a pair of tennis shoes on Tuesday, Jan. 24, and while searching the package, found drugs hidden in the sole of the shoes.
