The right treatment for each patient

Over the years, healthcare has seen some amazing changes. Many of today’s commonplace treatments would have been considered science fiction just a generation ago. Lasers are replacing scalpels; robotic arms are being used in surgery; and imaging has become amazingly detailed. These advances offer more effective and safer treatments, as well as a variety of treatment options. In fact, some procedures work better, or are safer, for certain patients, while other patients will benefit more from other treatments. By having more treatment options, a more personalized and effective approach can be taken.

Prescription drugs are similar. Multiple drugs, depending on what other prescriptions with patients may be taking or other conditions the patient may have, can be used to treat one condition.

Chiropractors also have a variety of treatments that can be utilized. An extremely gentle technique may be used for a young child, an elderly patient or for those who have a lot of tenderness, but for those who like to “feel” the adjustment and want to hear it, there are techniques that use more force. Both are effective, but one may be preferred by the patient and the doctor. The approach is determined by both the patient’s preference and what the condition requires to get better as quickly as possible.
