Kiker performs spring medley

For the enjoyment of the Wellington Care Center residents and staff, Melissa Kiker sings an array of melodies the afternoon of Sunday, May 28. Since she missed April, she brought Easter, Mother’s Day and Memorial Day songs in one program. “God and I honored our nation with the choruses from our military like ‘Off We Go Into the Wild Blue Yonder,’ ‘Anchors Aweigh,’ ‘Caissons Go Rolling Along’ and ‘Marine Corps Hymn,’” Kiker said. “I told them about how the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ came about, which we sang. Then, ‘God Bless the USA.’ It was a blessing.” Kiker’s husband, Lon Kiker, helped load her music and her daughter, Grace Kiker, attended as well. Melissa Kiker performed 18 songs for nine residents.
