Evans, of Memphis, and husband of Muriel Polk, of Lelia Lake, entered the Army Air Corps in 1941 and trained in Arizona, California and Texas. He served in the United States and was awarded the Victory Medal and AD Ribbon. Evans, a Memphis High School graduate, was discharged in 1945.
HA 1e William David “Bill” Ballew, son of Raymond Ballew, of Memphis, entered the Navy in 1945 and trained in San Diego, Calif. He served in the United States Naval Hospital in Mare Island, Calif. and was awarded the Victory Medal and AT Ribbon. Ballew, who attended Memphis High School, was discharged in 1946.
