Childress’ Foster named Lone Star Conference Player of the Year

FRISCO — The Lone Star Conference (LSC) recently announced their women’s basketball conference honors, which were headlined by Lubbock Christian University (LCU) Lady Chaparral Grace Foster, who claimed LSC Player of the Year honors, as well as First Team honors and All-Academic Team accolades.

Wellington competes in Childress Baseball Tournament

WELLINGTON — The Wellington Skyrockets recently competed in the Childress Baseball Tournament, picking up wins over San Jacinto Christian Academy and Childress junior varsity, while tallying a loss to Sanford-Fritch.

Area athletes compete in Rocket Relays

WELLINGTON — Childress, Memphis and Wellington track and field athletes recently competed in the Rocket Relays Thursday, March 2 at Powell Field in Wellington.

Childress boasts grand beginning to golf season

CHILDRESS — Halfway through the 2023 golf season, the Childress Bobcats and Lady Cats boast a combined three first-place, two second- place and two third-place team finishes, as well as two first-place individual finishes, thanks to Lady Cats Elena Jurado and Isa Jurado.
