Childress, Wellington players earn TSWA All-State accolades

CHILDRESS — Childress Bobcats Lamont Nickleberry and Seth Taylor, as well as Wellington Skyrockets Nixon Folk, Jordan Nation, Ethan Nevarez, Rey Ramirez and Blake Strickland, were recently named to the 2022 Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Class 2A and 3A All-State Football selections.

Lady Rockets explode in dominant bi-district win

WELLINGTON – The Wellington Lady Rockets faced off against the Sanford- Fritch Lady Eagles Monday, Feb. 13 at River Road High School in Amarillo, taking the Bi-District Championship a final score of 67-29. High-point scorers for Wellington were Presley Kane and Briley Waters with 11 points each.

Bobcats steal lead over Slaton for District Championship

CHILDRESS — Finishing district play, the Childress Bobcats split the District 2-3A Championship Tuesday, Feb. 14, taking the No. 2 seed in a 84-33 win over the Slaton Tigers. Seniors Lamont Nickleberry and Aiden Allen led the Bobcats, scoring a game-high 22 points apiece.

WELLINGTON – The Wellington Skyrockets hosted the Shamrock Irish on Friday, Feb. 10, winning by a final score of 64-35. The high-point scorer for Wellington was Bryant Tarver with 16 points.
