WELLINGTON — Opening district play, the Wellington Skyrockets soared to a 2-0 start,downing Quanah and Floydada.Bypassing Quanah in a 7-3 final on Friday, March 21, the Skyrockets were led by TJ Salinas, who struck out 10 batters, allowing five hits and two runs over four innings while walking one.

AMARILLO — The Wellington Skyrocket relay teams recently competed in the Amarillo Relays Meet of Champions Friday, March 21-Saturdary, March 22 at Dick Bivins Stadium in Amarillo.

Childress’ Brinley Stone competes at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association State Championships Thursday, March 13 in Edinburg. Competing in weight class 132, Stone finished 12th, squatting 245 pounds, bench pressing 130 pounds and deadlifting 260 pounds for a total of 635 pounds.
