Childress’ Cutter Bruce was recently nominated for Coaches Corner’s Boys Basketball Elite Play of the Week, going head-to-head with 10 other area players for the title. Narrowly missing the winning vote by three percent, Bruce was bested by Shelbyville’s DJ Barnes, who won with a 20% fan vote.

CHILDRESS — Five Childress Bobcat players, as well as one student athletic trainer, were recently selected to Texas High School Coaches Association Football Academic All-State teams.Drake Rabe was named to the First Team roster, while Kaleb Mayden and Logan Oldham were Second Team selections.
