High school always stays with us

Celebrating its 50th anniversary on Aug. 2, 2014, during the Wellington Ex-Student Association Reunion, the Wellington High School Class of 1964 enjoyed the catered meal, planned by the association, amongst additional weekend festivities.

Could a tumbleweed by any other name be an icon of the American West?Probably not. Especially since the other name is Russian thistle. Either way, we’re stuck with the ubiquitous born-to-roll plants— green and growing or dead and blowing between fences.

There are not just a lot of folks walking around today who were alive in the 1930s. I thought it might be fun for me to reach back and think about the changes since that time. These will be in no particular order, just as they come to mind. Communication: The phones were usually three-digit numbers.
