CHILDRESS – The Childress Fire Department dedicated its newest truck and honored several firefighters during a public ceremony last Friday, Aug. 28.
The new Spartan S-180 was purchased by the City of Childress at a cost of about $985,000, according to Fire Chief Ralph Freeman. The pumper has a capacity of 1,000 gallons, includes foam capability, and can carry four firefighters.
