Childress Police Department releases June 2026 activity report

The Childress Police Department released their June 2026 activity report today, Tuesday, June 30. 

"The Childress Police Department would like to reflect on what has been a very busy and, at times, difficult month for our community,” Childress Police Chief Jerrald Johnson said. “We extend our sincere appreciation to all of our officers and staff for their dedication, professionalism and the many long hours they have committed throughout June.”

“We also want to recognize and thank our partner agencies — the Childress County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, fire department and emergency medical services — for their continued cooperation and support,” Johnson added. “Most importantly, we thank the citizens of Childress for your continued support, trust and encouragement during these challenging times. Your partnership remains vital to our mission.”

During the month of June, Childress Police Department officers documented the following activity:                  

  • 31 Arrests
  • 45 Offense Reports
  • 19 Incident Reports
  • 25 Supplemental Reports
  • 105 Citations Issued
  • 197 Traffic Warnings Issued
  • 13 Traffic Accidents within the City
  • 219 Calls for Service

“These numbers do not include the many additional hours officers spent assisting other agencies or providing traffic control,” Johnson said. “Our officers remain committed to protecting and serving the community, responding to calls for service and maintaining a proactive presence throughout the city.”
