Modern Home Club experiences European tour

CHILDRESS — Modern Home Club held its regular monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 16 at the Childress County Heritage Museum. Soundra Christy called the meeting to order, followed by reading of the minutes by Raenell Smith, which were approved without change.
A 2015 graduate of Wellington High School, Carly Carter Kay is Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy’s 20222023 Elementary New Teacher of the Year. Currently a fourth-grade online teacher, Kay received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from West Texas A&M University in 2018. The daughter of Billy and Donnie Carter, she served in the Wellington Independent School District Music Department from 2018-2021. Carly and her husband, Weston Kay, reside in Altus, Okla. CHILDRESS — Tuesday, March 14, four Apache helicopters dropped in for fuel on their way to Oklahoma, and a Piper Meridian fueled up on his way from Alabama to New Mexico. Wednesday, March 15, a Bell 505 helicopter visited from Amarillo.

Curators of Collingsworth County Museum, located at 824 East Ave. in Wellington, invite everyone to a Tea Party from noon-3 p.m. Friday, March 17 and to take time to view its collection of around 85 dolls, some as old as 100 years.
