Kenneth Foy Husband was born Oct. 14, 1933, in Hall County, Texas to Walter Foy (Joe) and Clara Weeks Husband. After graduating from Turkey High School in 1951, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was last stationed in El Paso, Texas, where he met Marlys Swan. They were married on April 22, 1957, in Anapra, N.M.and lived in El Paso until the late 50s. In 1959, they moved to Childress, Texas, where he ran the Fina Station and the bowling alley for several years until he started farming and ranching in the 1960s. He continued this work until his death. He loved taking care of the cattle, and he could lot more cows with a cake wagon than he ever did with a horse. Marlys preceded him in death Nov. 19, 1988.

He married Ann Smith in 1993, and they took many overseas trips the past 25 years and saw over 21 countries, as well as Alaska and Hawaii. They met and made many friends on those trips, many who they remain in touch with today.

Most mornings, he went to have coffee in town, where he visited with his buddies and caught up on what was going on. Then, he was off to work and was an invaluable leader in the family farm business. He was a hard worker and set a great example for his family through his dedication of being a provider and protector.

His family was his pride and joy. He was “Pappy”to his grandkids and great-grandkids and was happiest when they came running to see him and give him hugs.
