Judy Patterson Belew, 82, of Wellington, Texas, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022.
Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, at the First Baptist Church with Keith Martin officiating. Burial followed in North Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
Born on August 2, 1940, in Wellington to George and Pauline Brown Patterson, Judy attended school in Quail, Texas and graduated from high school in California after her family moved there in 1949.
Judy returned to Wellington in 1957 and married Leroy Belew on Jan. 2, 1959, in Wellington.
She served as a beautician for 18 years, worked at Carroll’s Flowers for several years and enjoyed baking for the public.
Judy was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was involved with feeding the school kids on Mondays. She enjoyed playing cards with the women of the church. Judy served as a former member of the Lions Club, Business and Professional Women’s Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her survivors include her husband, Leroy Belew, of Wellington; her daughter, Tracey McGee and her husband, Randy, of Rogers, Ark.; two sons, Joe Paul Belew, of Lawton, Okla., and Phillip Lee Belew and his wife, Donna, of Wellington; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Wellington Cemetery Association or the Wellington Lions Club.
