FLOYDADA — The Childress Bobcats downed the Abernathy Antelopes in a 28-6 Class 3A Division II bi-district championship Friday, Nov. 10 at Tyer Stadium in Floydada.
In a matchup much unlike the close season opener, the Bobcats jumped out to a 14-point first quarter lead off a pair of touchdown passes from quarterback Drake Rabe to Isaiah Jalomo, which was followed by a 72-yard touchdown run by Da’Reon Mathis to secure the 21-6 halftime score.
Mathis rushed for 135 yards on 19 carries with two touchdowns, while Rabe went 9-of-13 for 141 yards with two touchdowns and Jalomo received 70 yards on two scores.
