Sept. 23 The varsity Wellington Skyrockets play the Panhandle Panthers at 7 p.m. in Wellington. Sept. 29 The junior high Wellington Firecrackers play the Roosevelt Eagles in Lubbock. Seventh grade plays at 4 p.m. followed by eighth grade at 6 p.m.

MEMPHIS — The Memphis Cyclones dropped their first game of the season last Friday, Sept. 9, tumbling in a 25-0 shutout led by the Ralls Jackrabbits at Ja ckrabbit Stadium.

Wellington shuts down River Road

WELLINGTON – The Skyrockets used their dominant run game while shutting down River Road’s run attack for a 42-0 homecoming shutout last Friday, Sept. 9. Out of the 428 total yards for Wellington, the Skyrockets dominated the ground game, piling up 322 rushing yards.

CHILDRESS — The Childress Bobcats notched their second loss this season, toppling over in a defense-dominated performance in which the Bushland Falcons blanked the Bobcats in a 43-0 shutout last Friday night, Sept. 9 at Falcon Stadium.

Childress Youth Recreational League (CYRL) closes out the Dub Nelson flag football season Tuesday, Sept. 6. “Thank you to everyone who helped this season,” former CYRL Board President Elizabeth Gamboa said. “Now, onto Lil Cats tackle football and CYRL basketball.”
